Helping seniors age in place

How do Occupational Therapists help seniors

Our therapists will start with an in home assessment where your independence with your daily activities, safety and mobility are evaluated. The therapist is then able to make individualized recommendations to help with ensuring you are safe and confident in your home.

Home modifications

Our therapists are able to help you find the best solutions to ensuring your home is accessible and safe for your use. We also understand that home adaptations and equipment can be quite expensive, and so our therapists are able to help you apply for the BC Rebate for Accessible Home Adaptations (BC RAHA)

Some examples of equipment that occupational therapists can recommend include but are not limited to:

- Ramps

- Adding stairlifts

- Installing handrails

- Adjusting the heights of counters

- Bed rails

- Shower Seats

- Converting tubs to roll in showers/walk in showers

- Relocating the washer and dryer
